1. About these terms
These terms apply to your use of voltaicselect.co.za and to every purchase you make from Voltaic Select, online or in person. By using the website or placing an order, you agree to them. Please read them together with our Orders & Returns policy, Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
Nothing in these terms takes away any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA). Where a clause limits our responsibility or places a risk on you, it is set out in bold so it's easy to find.

3. Your account
You can buy as a guest, or create an account to see your order history and save your details for next time. If you register, please make sure the information you give us is accurate and kept up to date. You're responsible for keeping your password private and for what happens on your account. We may suspend or close an account that's used fraudulently or in a way that harms other customers or the website.
4. Products, prices and stock
We try to describe and photograph every product accurately, but the actual product may differ slightly from the photos, for example in colour, decals or accessories. Figures such as range, top speed and charging time come from the manufacturer and depend on rider weight, terrain, temperature and battery condition.
All prices are in South African Rand and [include VAT at the current rate / exclude VAT as we are not VAT registered]. Prices and stock can change without notice. Stock levels on the website are a guide, and we can't guarantee that an item will always be in stock or restocked.
If a price on the website is clearly wrong, we don't have to sell at that price. We'll contact you before processing the order, and you can go ahead at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
5. Orders and payment
Placing an order is an offer to buy. We accept it once payment has cleared and we've confirmed stock, as explained in our Orders & Returns policy.
The website uses an encrypted (SSL) connection to protect the information you send us. Card payments are processed by [payment provider, e.g. Yoco or PayFast]. We never receive or store your card or banking details.
6. Collection, delivery and returns
Orders are collected from our Bloemfontein premises unless we agree on delivery with you. Collection, delivery, cancellations, returns, faulty items and refunds are all covered in our Orders & Returns policy, which forms part of these terms.
7. Warranties
Every product comes with the six-month warranty of quality under section 56 of the CPA. Many products also carry a manufacturer's warranty of [period]. Warranties don't cover normal wear and tear, accidents, misuse, racing, unauthorised modifications, or damage caused by not following the manual and charging instructions.
8. Safe use of electric vehicles and equipment
Electric bikes, quads, scooters and power equipment can cause serious injury or damage if they're used incorrectly. Using them safely is your responsibility. In particular:
- Read the user manual before first use, and follow the manufacturer's age, weight and experience recommendations.
- Always wear a helmet and suitable protective gear when riding.
- Children and young riders must be supervised by an adult at all times and should only ride vehicles suited to their age and size.
- Charge batteries only with the supplied or an approved charger, in a well-ventilated area, and don't leave them charging unattended for long periods.
- Many off-road bikes, quads and youth vehicles aren't licensed for public roads. It's up to you to check whether a vehicle may be ridden where you plan to use it, and to register and license it where the law requires.
- Fixed electrical installations, such as wall-mounted chargers, inverters or backup power systems, must be installed by a registered electrician who issues a Certificate of Compliance.
- Don't modify a product's battery, motor, controller or speed settings. This can make it unsafe and will void the warranty.
We're not responsible for injury, loss or damage caused by misuse, unsafe riding, ignoring the manufacturer's instructions or unauthorised modifications. This doesn't affect our responsibility for goods that are defective or unsafe when we supply them.
9. Website information and availability
Product information, guides and other content on the website are for general information. We work to keep everything accurate and up to date, but we can't guarantee it's always complete or free of errors, and we'll correct mistakes when we find them. We also can't promise that the website will always be available or free of interruptions.
10. Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as loss of income or profit, arising from your use of the website or our products. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for gross negligence, for defective or unsafe goods under the CPA, or for anything else that can't be excluded by law.
Our products aren't designed for critical applications, such as medical or life-support equipment, where a failure could cause injury or death.
11. Intellectual property
The Voltaic Select name and logo, and the design, text and photos on this website, belong to us or our suppliers. Please don't copy or use them for commercial purposes without our written permission. Manufacturer brand names and logos belong to their owners.
12. Privacy
We handle your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why, and our Cookie Policy explains how we use cookies and analytics.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on the website when you place an order is the one that applies to that order.
14. Complaints and governing law
If something goes wrong, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. If we can't resolve it, you can take your complaint to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (CGSO) or the National Consumer Commission. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
