What size inverter and battery do I need?
It depends on what you want to keep running and for how long. Add up the wattage of your essential appliances, such as lights, fridge, Wi-Fi and TV, and tell us how many hours of backup you need. We will help you size the system from there.
Can I start with a battery and add solar panels later?
Yes, most hybrid inverters let you start with an inverter and battery and add panels later. Check the solar input rating on the inverter product page, or ask us to confirm before you buy.
How long does a lithium battery last?
Lithium batteries are rated by cycle count, which is listed on each product page along with the warranty. With normal daily use, a good lithium battery should last many years.
Do I need an electrician to install a backup power system?
Yes. In South Africa, an inverter and battery wired into your electrical installation must be installed by a registered electrician, who issues a Certificate of Compliance. Portable power stations need no installation.
Can a portable power station run my fridge?
It depends on the power station output and capacity and on the fridge power draw. Check the rated output on the product page against your appliance, or ask us and we will tell you what it can run and for how long.
