Cookie Policy
What cookies voltaicselect.co.za uses, why we use them and how you can control them.
Last updated: October 2026
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. They let the site remember things, such as what's in your cart, and help us see how the site is used.
2. Our approach
We keep cookies to a minimum. We only use the essential cookies the shop needs to work, and analytics cookies that show us how visitors use the website. We don't use advertising cookies or cookies that track you across other websites, and we don't sell any cookie data.
Because of this, we don't show a cookie banner. If we ever start using advertising or tracking cookies, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent first.
3. Essential cookies
These keep the shop working: your cart, checkout and account. The site won't work properly without them.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| wp_woocommerce_session_* | WooCommerce | Remembers your cart between pages | 2 days |
| woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart | WooCommerce | Keeps the cart up to date when it changes | Until you close your browser |
| wordpress_logged_in_*, wordpress_sec_* | WordPress | Keeps you signed in to your account | Until you close your browser, or 14 days if you tick "Remember me" |
| wordpress_test_cookie | WordPress | Checks that your browser accepts cookies when you sign in | Until you close your browser |
| __cf_bm | Cloudflare | Protects the site against bots and attacks | 30 minutes |
4. Analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), loaded through Google Tag Manager (GTM), to understand how people find and use the website: which pages are visited, how long people stay and which device or browser they use. This helps us fix problems and improve the site.
Google Tag Manager is the tool that loads Google Analytics on our pages. It doesn't set any cookies of its own.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Tells visits from different browsers apart, using a random ID | 2 years |
| _ga_* | Google Analytics | Keeps track of the current visit | 2 years |
GA4 doesn't store your IP address, and we don't use it to identify you personally. Google keeps the analytics data for [14 months] and processes it on servers that may be outside South Africa. You can read how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/privacy.
5. How to control cookies
- In your browser: every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies in its settings. If you block essential cookies, the cart, checkout and account pages won't work properly.
- Google Analytics opt-out: you can stop Google Analytics collecting data on any website with Google's opt-out browser add-on, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
6. Changes to this policy
If the cookies we use change, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
